The RELO IO8 is the core hardware controller of the Cueva Control platform. It provides eight dry-contact relay outputs and eight digital inputs inside a compact 19″ 1U rack-mount enclosure, and runs a full automation engine entirely on-device. No cloud dependency required for day-to-day operation.
What the RELO IO8 does
At its simplest, the RELO IO8 listens for events (a button press, a network message, a schedule) and responds with actions (switching a relay, sending a command to an external device, triggering another flow). This trigger → condition → action model covers everything from a single room's projector lift to a multi-zone AV system spread across a building.
- 8 independent relay outputs, normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) per relay
- 8 digital inputs, contact-closure compatible with pushbuttons, sensors, and third-party panels
- Gigabit Ethernet with a built-in web interface for configuration
- Supports TCP, UDP, HTTP, MQTT, OSC, Art-Net, and serial (RS-232) protocols simultaneously
- Local automation engine, flows run without internet connectivity
- Rack-mountable in a standard 19″ rack using the optional RM99 bracket
Where it fits in the ecosystem
The RELO IO8 is programmed and monitored using Cueva Desktop, the native Mac and Windows application. Flows built in Cueva Desktop are deployed directly to the device over the local network. For remote access, fleet management, and over-the-air firmware updates, devices can optionally be registered with Cueva Horizon, the Cueva Control cloud platform.
If this is your first Cueva Control device, start with the Unboxing & Hardware page to familiarise yourself with the physical connectors before moving on to Network Setup.

Before you begin
To complete the getting-started steps you will need the RELO IO8 unit, a network switch or router with at least one spare port, a standard Cat5e or better patch cable, and a computer running Cueva Desktop on the same network. Download Cueva Desktop from the Downloads page before continuing.
